Logo Quizzes: Check out three different versions of brand testing games currently available for Android
It’s common knowledge that companies spend tons of money on advertising and branding, but have you ever wondered how effective it all is? Now’s your chance to experiment on yourself and see how many you can recognise.
We looked at three versions of Logo Quizzes which are currently available for Android devices and compared them against each other. These apps were developed by J-roen, Carlos Alcarria and AndroidCrowd.
[If you've come here looking for logo quiz answers, then scroll down to our tips section below where we have images of all the answers for J-roen's Logo Quiz, Carlos Alcarria's Logo Quiz and even the iPhone logo quiz!]
Gameplay: Across the three different logo quiz games, the core mechanism is the same: you select one of the unidentified logos and then you try to name it. Most of the time the full logo is shown, but sometimes the company name is part of the brand and so the text is purposely left out. Once you get the exact company name then you get either a green tick or some points. The aim is to identify all the logos.
First Impressions: As a brand identification game, then J-roen’s style and look was miles ahead of the other two games on the market. It just looked slick and impressive with it’s nice stylisation and clean screenshots. Here’s a great example of how good game icons and screenshots can make a huge difference to downloads because J-roen’s game has over a million downloads putting it about 10 times more popular than its competitors. Carlos Alcarria and AndroidCrowd really need to look at their own game images and understand the importance of branding!
Fun factor: Although J-roen’s offering is the most popular, bizarrely it actually has the least amount of logos to identify. You can get through almost all the icons with a good half hour to an hour session. Whereas Alcarria and AndroidCrowd’s games have over 250 logos, thus making their core gameplay much better. In addition to having more logos, they have levels built in which break the game up and give players more of a reason to play the game. J-roen and AndroidCrowd have points associated with naming the brands correctly which is great when you want to compete with your friends and distinguish who’s better. So in terms of core gameplay AndroidCrowd has the best mix.
Graphics: I’m not biased towards J-roen, but their version of Logo Quiz has the cleanest images in the grid view and zoomed up. It’s the most important part of the game so the insignias must be presented as pretty as possible. Alcarria’s game is the worst in this area because there aren’t always transparent backgrounds behind the logos. So in some ways I feel like they tarnish the brands and present them badly!
Interface: Given that music isn’t important here then the player interaction with the game is critical. Buttons should be placed in intuitive places and navigation around the game should be quick and easy. Unfortunately, J-roen’s game is style over substance because it’s tough to spot the logo’s you’ve identified incorrectly. AndroidCrowd is a bit better with its clear green ticks to signify which logos you’ve found. Alcarria might be the best for identifying your solved logos by clearly labelling them with a green tick and making them greyscale. However, their back button isn’t integrated into the controls which means that you’ll quit the game instantly upon pressing back – quite annoying.
Why must you try these games? It’s a laugh to play this in couples or with friends. Interestingly there are multiple things you might spot: guys would recognise more of the car insignias, whereas girls are more likely to know the fashion brands. The older you are, the more likely you’ll fare better. It’s rather odd how much your subconscious mind absorbs and identifies images. For instance, I saw a red rectangular box with a four pointed crown and the word “international”… I suddenly thought of panties and I just thought I really had it on the mind! I was surprised to find out it was actually Triumph (the female underwear company) *phew*
What’s missing? Hints and tips are missing from all the games, so if you’re stuck then Google is your friend. You then need to try and describe the logo and search for it online. There is a fantastic logo quiz out on the iPhone already and it totally eclipses all the Android versions and just shows how the game should be made. There needs to be many logos, split into levels, with hints and tips. On top of this there is integration with Facebook which lets you publically ask all your friends to help identify the insignias. Voila…
More to come: I doubt this is the end of this series of games and I suspect there will be several more versions and iterations which show regional brands and maybe age differentiated logos etc.
Rating: 3/5 All the Android logo quiz games are playable. Perhaps the cleanest and shortest one is the production by J-roen, which is great for a taster. If you’re looking for a more thorough game then we would suggest AndroidCrowd’s game which has a system which tells you if your guess is close. Carlos Alcarria’s game is still playable, but with bad image handling and no score, we’d rank it below AndroidCrowd’s logo quiz. If you have an iOS device, then check out the Logo Quiz there which is far superior to any thing on Android at the moment.
Logo Quiz Tips from Android Games Review:
- Do you want to see something interesting? If you get stuck on a logo, try describing it in Google and you’ll find that the autocorrect will probably complete your question correctly for you! (Because many other people are probably googling the same thing!) Shame it doesn’t necessarily give you the answer.
Logo Quiz Answers are below but we suggest you only look at the answers once you and your friends definitely can’t answer any more (it’s more fun that way). We’ve got the logo quiz answers for you here (just click the links to see the images):

Hey,
great artikel, i love the androidcrowd app…
But you say that no game have hints inside, the androidcrowd app has 2 hints in english and german for every logo (300).
Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the message. The hints must be a new addition because my non-updated version doesn’t have hints. In any case, that sounds great – it’s the logo game I like the most anyway and it’s also the one I suggest people play. It’s much slicker than the other two big games out there. Interestingly, it has less downloads than the other two big logo games… and I think it’s the logo which lets it down! Sweet irony!
Cheers
omg thx for the answers, so handy!!! I was stuck on a car one
Hi Sara,
Thanks for the message – yeah the car ones are weird. You look at them and just instantly know they’re a car logo, but you actually don’t have the foggiest idea about which one lol!
Cheers
j. roens logo quiz was updated today and for $1.04 everything that u said in your article that isn’t there, now is. kinda sucks u gotta pay for it but it’s only a buck…and at the end if u beat the game u get to make ur own logo that will be written to ur phone/sd card…lol!
Hmmmm…. So I updated the version I have expecting to see something worthwhile from the J-Roens version of the Quiz. But…. there’s NOTHING! Only a stupid update button which then asks for you to pretty much buy the game!
I’m gonna be honest, that’s just retarded strategy. There are thousands of logos out there – they should give some more away for free before asking for money – how do they expect to compete with the other offerings out there which are still free!! …
But thanks for telling us about the update man – really appreciated!
AndroidCrowd Logo Quiz Update 1.3 from 31/06/12 is so great.
New level and a awesome new Design!!
Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the update info. Do you know what’s in the new update? How many extra logos are there?
Seems like AndroidCrowd is still behind on the downloads… it’s a shame those silly developers don’t realise how awful looking their game logo is. If I could speak to them, I’d make sure they knew how duff it looks. In fact its quite surprising they couldn’t spot the difference just by looking at their competitors… oh well :)
Cheers
Hey,
thank you for your opinion on our app.
I like your article :)
In our newest update we have a new Level with 50 logos and a completely new design.
Do you mean our App-Icon is not so good?
Do you have an idea for another icon?
You can contact us via E-Mail.
Thanks,
Sebastian
Hi Sebastian,
Thanks for your message. What a coincidence it is that Kevin messages from a gmx account and then you email us from your German email ;)
With regards to your app-icon you need to revisit the colour scheme and compare how you look against your competitors. Just comparing your game to Carlos’ version you can see that the small brand icons (within his logo) are much more recognisable than your small brand icons. Emporio Armani is easily standing out right? You can easily trump that with a couple of even more recognisable icons. Don’t forget to change your colours so they’re more appealing.
Cheers
Hey,
kevin is a friend and has sent me the link to your article :)
What do you think about this logo?
http://www.androidcrowd.de/images/icon2.png
Hi Sebastian,
The logos you’ve picked are much better. I’m not sure if you’ve put in Dodge on purpose or not? If you zoom out, the Dodge isn’t visible, but perhaps that may draw people in to look at it. Personally I’d just put something which is hard to recognise but is easier to see.
The colours aren’t aesthetically pleasing… they’re slightly revolting. Try asking some girls about the colours you put in.
Cheers
impossible for me to enter Jonson and Johnson… I tried all spelling and the one you indicate but bloody hell… it does not work…
Anyone facing the same problem?
Thanks
Arrrgghh…. really sorry… there’s a typo there in that image. So level 6 for Carlos/Yulogo’s Logo quiz should be “Johnson and Johnson”. I think I got frustrated when I entered the text in and mistakenly typed the name wrong. It’s the annoying interpretation of “&” into “and” which annoys everyone in this game – it’s inconsistent!
Im on a logo on level two for android its a red m and has a white backround also for north face it says its wrong can anyone help
Hi Jody,
I think you’re playing the Yulogo/Carlos’s Logo Quiz. You’re having problems with the inconsistencies in this version and the poor setup – all the developer’s fault… and also why I personally don’t like this version and prefer AndroidCrowd’s game instead.
So for level two, the red m with a white background is “H and M”. It’s annoying because “H&M” won’t work… but when it was the M&Ms logo, technically that should be “M and Ms” instead of “M Ms”!!!
The North Face logo is on level 6 of the logo quiz. We actually had the same problem when we made our solutions. You need to type “The North Face” for some reason… it’s so silly!
Hope that helps! … and feel free to ask about any other logos you might have problems with!
Cheers
I have the Carlos Alcarria version of this app and there’s a logo on level 4 of it that I’m having trouble with. You named it Slemens but when I typed that in it came up ‘more or less’. Please help?
Hi Cherie,
I think you meant “Siemens” where the second character is an “i”. That would be the name of the logo with two turqoise “s”s. It might look like an “l” from afar, but if you zoom in you can see it’s an “i”.
Cheers
Hi Cherie, did you get my last message? And did Siemens work for you in the end?
Hi WildWilly,
thank you for your opinion on our app.
We have some mistakes (mms…) but in our last update we have corrected usability glitches.
Currently, we are the first in number of downloads in Google play.
Anyway, thanks for the review, although we disagree with some of your points.
Thanks,
Carlos.
Hi Carlos,
Thanks you for your comments.
You have some big mistakes and it’s plastered all over your comments of your game. When you say you’ve corrected usability glitches, then may I ask what that means? What is acceptable for M&Ms now? Is it “M and M s” or “MMs” or “M&Ms”. I’m hoping you’re going to tell me that you made all of them possible answers because that would be the sign of a truely knowledgable and understanding developer.
Fully understand that you disagree with some of the points, but do remember that the review was written a few weeks back – prior to any of your updates.
Cheers
the logo of m&m always error. ¿whats the correct answer?
Hi pedro,
Yeah this logo quiz always has issues with the ampersand sign for some reason. They’ve updated the game now, so theoretically according to what they say then you should be able to put in “m ms”, but if that doesn’t work then try “m and ms”. You need to pluralise the name.
Cheers
@WildWilly Can you add my game (Visual Quiz) to the list? I think my game is better than the ones listed above. :)

Hi Rafael,
Looks interesting…
Thanks for giving us the link here.
Does anyone have HINTS for Carlos Alcarria’s game? Not answers, HINTS. Like, “Level x #y is automotive/financial/cosmetic” etc. Unfortunately the mindset of today just seems to be “give up immediately.” I’m willing to do some work (and I’ve looked at a LOT of logos so far) but I am getting to the point where I’d like to narrow my searches down.
Hi Pawprint,
I know what you mean – you just want a little tip so there’s still the fun and challenge left in the game.
Unfortunately I don’t have anything like that. But we could do a mini one here in the comments section :) Which level are you stuck on? (Which column and row)? :D
All the Logo developers keep coming back to me telling me they’ve upgraded their games to have hints… do you see any hints in your current version and have you updated?
Otherwise… if you happen to have an iOS device, then check out the logo quiz there – there are hints and tips in that one :)
Cheers
Are you planning to release answers for the logo quiz by Bubble Co.? This quiz is relatively new on Google Play, but it’s already up to twelve levels. So far there are 707 logos, and some of them are really tough to figure out. Unfortunately, there are no hints available.
Thanks in advance for your response.
- Cynthia
Hi Cynthia,
Thanks for the info. 707 logos is alot! We might look into it. As I understand it, the answers we have might already be slightly old because they’ve updated the game since.
Cheers
btw, how many are you stuck on so far?
Hey,
I like your posts and you would be happy if you write a review on our new app. It’s about listening to songs in pure and guess the artist and title.

kind regards
Sebastian Willkomm
Hi Sebastian,
Thanks for your message. The idea of the game sounds cool, so we’ll try and look at it asap. Do you know why you’re getting so many dislikes though?
Cheers
Love it
Hey WildWilly,
Yes, the recognition of the songs was in Version 1.0 not so good, but we have this improved greatly. With update 1.2, we have improve the game a lot.
Some people miss tips for song like Logo Quiz tipps, but I think it is difficult to write tips for songs. If you get 25 Stars you can get an Joker, this means you can skip a song.
In the first Level, some songs are in the charts. I think you can solve the most without tipps.
kind regards
Sebastian
Hi Sebastian,
Sounds good. We’ll try and review your game soon :)
Cheers
johnson & johnson answer is: johnson johnson :)
Hi Oscar,
Thanks for the comment. The developers kept messing about with their answers and so there wasn’t any good standardisation in their answers. It was originally “johnson and johnson” on an older version of the game (eventhough they said that “&” could be omitted!)
Cheers
Hi.. i’ve been playing this games (the Carlos Alcarria version) and i’m already reaching level 11, and i stuck on it so.. i kinda looking for help, and i’m wondering when you guys can update the answer? :)
Hi derry,
It took us a fair amount of effort to get the first set of answers out, so we weren’t planning on putting out answers anytime soon. Sorry!
If you get really really really stuck…. then you could try this…. get a screenshot of the image, cut out the image and try it in Google Image Search…. I’ve not tried this before but it might work!
Cheers
hey Willy, do you have answer for new logo quiz? different from above
Hi wonder,
Sorry mate, we don’t have updated answers at the moment :(
We might do them soon though.
Nice article. Would you be able to add our game to the list? We recently launched and believe it is one of the better looking ones out there. Many thanks!

Hi Black Cobra,
I’m not sure we’ll get round to reviewing your game unfortunately, but maybe some people would goto your link from this posting.
